Caja de herramientas para docentes [Toolbox for Teachers] is an educational programme for primary school teachers featuring texts by a number of experienced educators. Asked by the museum to reflect on the relationship between their field of expertise and the world of visual art, they have developed ideas to encourage teachers of Languages, Maths and the Visual Arts to get involved in multi and interdisciplinary initiatives.
The project was presented to the Patronage Programme run by the City of Buenos Aires at the end of 2018 before the Covid-19 pandemic accelerated the diversification of museums into hybrid virtual and physical formats. Back then a fully digital project carried out by an institution that had only previously published in ink on paper didn’t seem as critical as it does now. The circumstances that accompanied these past three years of research and interdisciplinary dialogue have transformed the museum and altered the focus of these texts.
