Poems for children – Aisenberg

“What is wrong with the lady?”
by Adriana Fernández

On the Mystical Robotics in the Crystal Economy by Diana Aisenberg

“What is wrong with the lady?”

they ask quietly.

Nothing at all.

Everyone has their own face!

She has hairs

charms

brooches

pearls

feathers.

She has eyes

a fringe

beads

clips

ringlets.

She has a face

caps

tops

lids

and lace.

She has a heart.

“What is wrong with the lady?”

they ask quietly.

Nothing at all.

Everyone has their own face!

I count

the lady’s

beads.

What is she made of?

tell me now

I count

the lady’s

beads.

I count and listen

To what she says.

She blows the beads

off the walls:

“I am made

of all of you.”
