The Theater and Dance Documentation Center is located in the San Martín Theater and was born in 2003 with the objective of collecting, systematizing, preserving and disseminating all the information related to the productions of the Buenos Aires Theater Complex.
It is one of the most legitimized spaces of its kind in the city of Buenos Aires, with original material essential for the study of Argentine stage production. It welcomes an eclectic audience that includes theater and performing arts students, researchers in the area and the general public.
Its function is not only to preserve the artistic, graphic, documentary and audiovisual materials of the works that are represented on the stages of the Theater Complex, but also to promote networks that allow it to optimize the achievement of objectives through exchanges with other similar spaces or with members of the local theater field.
Likewise, it has a library and a newspaper archive specialized in performing arts that, added to the photo library, the sketch archive and the area that protects the audiovisual records, become a rich and varied offer for the visitor. It carries out intense pedagogical work through talks, workshops and meetings on topics related to the performing arts, trying to improve its remote accessibility through its own and external projects.
