MC gallery was founded in 2014, by María Calcaterra in Buenos Aires (Argentina), with the aim of giving visibility and new ways of approaching modern and contemporary artists from Latin America. The gallery is located in the heart of the Museum Quarter of Buenos Aires, between the Latin American Museum (MALBA), the Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA) and Museum of Decorative Arts. Since its opening, the MCMC has presented renowned solo exhibitions dedicated to Jorge De La Vega, Edgardo A. Vigo, Edgardo Giménez, Manuel Espinosa, Rogelio Polesello, Víctor Magariños D. and Horacio Zabala, as well as outstanding group shows such as Abstracción Geométrica, Arte Cinético Argentino, Pop & Post Pop, among others. It has also collaborated in institutional exhibitions such as Edgardo Giménez’s solo exhibition at the Di Tella Institute and at the National Museum of Fine Arts of Neuquén; Eduardo Costa’s solo exhibition at the Tamayo Museum in Mexico; Rogelio Polesello’s solo exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts of Neuquén and César Paternosto’s exhibitions at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid and at the National Museum of Fine Arts of Buenos Aires.
Currently, the gallery participates in national and international art fairs such as: arteba in Buenos Aires, Frieze New York, Frieze Masters in London, ARCO in Madrid, among others.
Growing in parallel with the emerging field of Latin American Modern Art abroad, MCMC understands the importance of actively participating in the international art market scene, as well as working in collaboration with public institutions, private collections, museums and other cultural organizations in the expansion of aesthetic knowledge, providing a careful approach to the important legacy of the artists it represents.
