Villa Antonio

Antonio Villa is from Esquel, Chubut, Argentine Patagonia; He lives and works in Buenos Aires. He is tea-
sad, writer and visual artist. He graduated from EMAD’s Dramaturgy degree. Scholarship of the UTDT Artists Program 2018, in criticism and curatorship; CIA Agent 2017 (Artistic Research Center). He completed residencies in writing, curating and stage direction in Argentina and Mexico: Young Writers, BA International Literature Festival; Residency in Dramaturgy UAEM-IBERESCENA (CDMX); Residency in Stable Cast Management at the Universidad Veracruzana (Mx); Beyond the Sud (It – Arg). His collection of poems

“Teatra” was edited by “ Desde un tacho” in 2016, his theatrical pieces are part of different compilations. His last piece “Paz” was published by Drama Books. In visual arts he participated in group exhibitions and held his first individual exhibition “The Sword and the Stone” (2018) at Munar Arte, curated by Gonzalo Lagos; and “The Dragon and the Beast” at the 2019 Performance Biennial, curated by Catalina Urtubey (El Gran Vidrio, Córdoba). Winner ArteBA 2019 Work Award (performance).
Week of the Arts 2021 GCBA Award. In 2022 he premiered as playwright and director “Chongo Triste”, a piece commissioned by the Teatro Nacional Cervantes. He is curator of the Gallinero collection of contemporary dramaturgy, from Rara Avis publishing house. He is co-director and curator of Constitución Gallery.
