Terán Luis
Espiral, 2013. Madera de pino saligna.

Luis Terán (Buenos Aires, 1977) is a sculptor and teacher. He studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts and participated in various artistic training programs. Since the beginning of his career, he has focused on manual labor applied to resources that come from household and industrial waste, architectural construction materials and other raw materials. His works combine the austerity of material resources with the richness of the craft. This axiom is manifested in works of all scales, from the use of an aluminum soda can, to large pieces made of iron, wood, plaster or cement. The themes of his work are related to the universe of contemporary sculpture (form, method and symbol), the dialogue with other artists in the history of art. He has exhibited in Budapest, within the framework of the residency at the FKSE, in Singapore invited by the Fondation d’entreprise Hermés, in Rio de Janeiro invited by A gentil Carioca, and in Duderstandt, Germany, in the H.G.N.Kunsthalle collection. For five years he has run a contemporary sculpture workshop and a work clinic. His work is part of the heritage of the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires. He lives and works in Buenos Aires
