Ramiro Quesada Pons (Mendoza, 1987) studies visual arts at the National University of Cuyo. The grammar of his work is inscribed in the language of installation, where he makes use of diverse media and techniques to build immersive spaces. His artistic procedures address a vast range of operations: work on digital files, the contrast between the volume of sculptural objects made of wood, Styrofoam or clay, on the one hand, and, on the other, photographic two-dimensionality, the arrangement of textures heterogeneous and a synthetic work with color. This makes Quesada Pons an artist particularly dedicated to thinking about the way in which images are formed and circulate before becoming intelligible signs, symbols or icons. In 2009, the YPF Foundation awarded him a scholarship to participate in the 2009 artist program at the Torcuato Di Tella University. In 2010 he participated in the Regional Entrecampos program, taught by Patricia Hakim, Fernando Castro Flores and María Iovino. In 2012, he was selected as a scholarship agent at the Center for Artistic Research (CIA). In 2013 he won the FNA-Conti scholarship and the Cultural Equality award. In 2014 he was invited to be part of the collective project “La Verdi”, organized by Ana Gallardo. In 2017 he was selected to carry out the project “The Real Image” at the Buenos Aires Young Art Biennial. In 2018 he won the award for the creation of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Culture Fund. In 2019 he participated in the Port Tonic Art Center residency in Les Issambres, France. He held individual exhibitions in various centers and galleries in Argentina and abroad. He lives and works in Buenos Aires.
