Lucía Mara (Buenos Aires, 1988). She studied Film Direction at the Universidad del Cine (F.U.C) in Buenos Aires. She lived in Los Angeles where she completed a postgraduate degree in film and photography at the University of California (U.C.L.A) and in New York, where she studied photography at the International Center Of Photography (I.C.P).
She produced several series of photogravures in the workshop of renowned master engraver Dan Benveniste, in Madrid.
She exhibited her work at numerous International Art Fairs: ArteBA, ArteBA Focus and Buenos Aires Photo in Buenos Aires; Art Basel Miami Beach, Pinta Miami, USA; ARCO Madrid, Spain; LimaPhoto, Peru and Este Arte, Punta del Este, Uruguay.
Her work is part of several important art and photography collections around the world.
He participated in the group exhibitions The world as it is, The lines of the hand (2016), Elogio de la Sombra, Deja Vu (2018), Kind of Blue (2019) and Chroma (2020) at the Jorge Mara-La Gallery Ruche and in Collage (2021) and Colectiva por Ukraine (2021) at the Aina Nowack Gallery, Contemporary Art in Madrid, Spain. In 2017 she exhibited a selection of photogravures at the E Gallery Contemporary Art Gallery, (Sotogrande, Spain).
In 2017 she published a book-catalog LUCIA MARA: Here, there and Everywhere with introductory text by Antonio Muñoz Molina that accompanied an individual exhibition at the Jorge Mara-La Ruche Gallery.
In 2018 she had a solo exhibition at the Aína Nowack Gallery, Contemporary Art in Madrid, Spain.
In June 2020, the individual exhibition Lucia Mara: Apparitions took place at the UADE ART Cultural Center, which was provisionally held in virtual format due to the COVID-19 situation.
In June 2023 she inaugurated an individual exhibition at the Aína Nowack Gallery, in Madrid, Spain, which coincided with the opening of Photo España 2023.
She currently lives and works in Buenos Aires.
