Juan Lecuona (1956) was born in Buenos Aires, where he currently lives and works.
He is considered a member of the generation that in the early 80s claimed painting. In 1985 he was co-founder of the Babel Group. In 1994 he was awarded a Creation Grant from the Antorchas Foundation and in 2000 he received a scholarship from the same institution. In 2003 he completed an artist residency in Brazil with a scholarship from the Sacatar Foundation. In 2009 he participated in the Puertas del Bicentenario Program, creating a mural in the Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
His works appear in numerous official and private collections, including the Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (MAM), the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro, the Bronx Museum of Arts (New York), the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA), the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), and the University of Palermo Foundation (Buenos Aires).
