San Juan, 1960 – Visual artist, researcher and independent curator

He trained and researches in visual arts, philosophy, psychoanalysis and architecture, UBA-1985
In his latest projects he is usually interested in conceptual poetic approaches and borders, which articulate about and with the difficulty, or the impossibility of symbolizing, of representing certain irruptions, fractures and voids. Personal and community, affective, perceptive, ethical and political.

He held several solo exhibitions in Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Berlin, Rome, New York and Miami.
He participated in more than a hundred international group exhibitions.
His last individual exhibitions were:

  • The language on the moor, intervention/installation in the Art Center of the National University of La Plata, 2021;
  • Another páramo, video installation at NN gallery, La Plata, 2019;
  • Another moor and Paradise in flames, video installation/intervention at Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo (EAC) Montevideo, 2018;
  • Everything gray, in El taller gallery, Tucumán, 2018.

    He carries out analysis, problematization and monitoring of projects and processes from 2006 to the present in several cities in the country. He researches Argentine art in recent decades, gives seminars and talks. Develop and propose programs that articulate autonomously and/or with public institutions; curates and writes essays.

He was Director of the National Fund for the Arts of Argentina from 2005 to 2016.
He directed and coordinated the curators, during that period, of all the exhibitions held in the Alsina room and the FNA House of Culture.
He created and directed the nationwide FNA Visual Arts Training Program 2007-2015, and FNA-ECuNHi and FNA-Conti Scholarships 2009-2015.
He co-wrote and produced POÉTICAS CONTEMPORÁNEAS, Itineraries in the visual arts in Argentina from the 90s to 2010, Ed FNA, 2011.

He was coordinator and general curator of Visual Arts at the Haroldo Conti Cultural Memory Center, 2011-2015. in the former ESMA

In 2016 he was a teacher of the Cliniques Es Baluard Program of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
In 2017 and 2018 he gave his Analysis and Production Workshop at the Contemporary Art Space of Montevideo and in several Argentine cities.

He coordinates the San Isidro Visual Arts Prize, Kenneth Kemble, since 2017
He participates in the coordination of the International Community Residency 2019-Lincoln, Bs As

In 2020 he created the MANGLAR project, analysis and production in Visual Arts, which develops clinic and seminar programs in CABA, in La Plata, and on a virtual platform. Project that he currently directs and coordinates, and in which various artists, teachers and theorists participate and have participated, Ticio Escobar, Ana Longoni, Adriana Bustos, among others.

He won several national awards.
His works are owned by the Hess Art Collection, CAF of Venezuela, the MAC of Rosario, the Museum of Fine Arts of Santa Fe, the FNA, the University of Palermo, among other important institutional and private collections.

He works nomad, based in Florida, Buenos Aires.
