It is a collaborative duo of visual artists formed by Barbara Kaplan (1980) and Mariano Dal Verme (1973) from Buenos Aires, Argentina. They have worked and shared their lives as a couple since 2004. The duo explores the limits between metaphor and literality, trying to turn them into a clear space for action, from where they approach reality as confusing and inexorable. The boundaries are also blurred in terms of authorship. They think of their productions as a diptych, where their ideas and individual production processes are crossed by the gaze of the other. They experiment with everyday, domestic, ephemeral objects, taking advantage of the limitations they impose, to find a way to enhance their possibilities, both conceptual and semantic. Their interventions are conditioned by the materiality of the objects. Aware of where they stand, in terms of a culture forged by economic, political and social crises that have shaped an idiosyncrasy and also a distinctive capacity to face problems. To solve them without the appropriate means, focusing on creativity as a strategy.
