Monserrat González Méndez was born in the City of Corrientes, Argentina in 1987 where she studied painting from a very young age. In 2013 he obtained his architectural degree from UNNE. Since 2014 he resides and works in the city of Resistencia, Chaco. During his studies he worked in various architecture studios and, at the end of 2013, he opened GMZestudio. With this he participated in the “CASAFOA” Design Fair in 2017 in the City of Buenos Aires, and his “BOW BENCH” design was selected within the “Urban Benches Contest”. The studio also managed to publish the work “BIKE IT!”: Artistic installation capable of generating energy” for the Land Art Generator Initiative. In parallel to his professional practice, the artist continued taking postgraduate courses in arts at the PROA Foundation (Private Art Center of Buenos Aires). The first public exhibition of his works was in 2017 in his hometown, at the Federal Visual Arts Exhibition. In June of that same year he exhibited at ARTBOX.PROJECT BASEL 1.0, an initiative of the ARTBOX.GALLERY Switzerland. Starting in early 2019, he decided to dedicate himself completely to the visual arts.
Some of his digital art pieces earned him publication in Edition Nº12 of FLAMANTES “Book of Young Artists” in 2018 in Barcelona; the publication in the “Artist Spotlight” edition of the month of July of the digital gallery SQUIDINK GALLERY in California, USA, the “Certificate of Excellence” awarded by “The Latin American Fine Art Competition”, – with his works selected for the exhibition organized by Agora Gallery at White Space Chelsea, N.Y. – and the Certificate of Artistic Merit awarded by the members of the artistic commission of the Pinacotheque de Luxembourg within the framework of the “Luxemburg Art Prize 2021”.
