Verónica Di Toro works in the framework of hard-edge geometric abstraction. She is interested primarily in exploring color. In her paintings, color is the vehicle that captivates viewers’ vision and transports it, connecting to it on emotional level. Her production can be grouped into small and large-format paintings. Di Toro explains that the imposing large canvases give rise to other sensations; they involve the body differently, whether her body when she paints or the viewer’s body when it looks. Working in series is a means to delve into a single structure. Many of her designs can be combined to form a whole that re-signifies each painting on its own.
She studied at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Manuel Belgrano and then the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón. She took studio classes with Sergio Bazán for four years.
