He was born in Buenos Aires in 1928. He graduated as a lawyer in 1950. At the beginning of the sixties he formed the group Nueva Figuración together with Noé, Macció and De la Vega. When the group dissolved at the end of the decade, Deira produced a dizzying succession of image changes. He always spoke about man in a universal key, referring to his culture, his conflicts, his masks. Deira died in Paris in 1986, leaving behind a vast production: more than 900 works including oil paintings, acrylics, and drawings.
