Alejandro Chaskielberg (Buenos Aires, 1977) is a photographer and teacher. He graduated as Director of Photography from ENERC. His first book La Creciente received the BURN Emerging Photographer Grant from the Magnum Foundation. His second book, Otsuchi Memories of the Future, received the RM Ibero-American Photobook Award. In 2011 the World Photography

Organization named him World Photographer of the Year 2011. In 2009 the New York magazine PDN [Photo District News] named him one of the thirty emerging photographers worldwide. He received the Leopold Godowsky Jr. Award from Boston University, which recognizes excellence in the field of contemporary color photography. In 2008 he was invited by the National Geographic Society to participate in the respected All Roads Photography Program. He also received the Talen Latent award given by the SCAN festival in Spain and in 2010 the award for best Latin American portrait at the US Pictures of the Year International Awards. Recently he was awarded by Editorial RM (Spain-Mexico) with the RM Ibero-American Photobook Award. His work was presented at the Brighton Biennial curated by Martin Parr in 2009, the Daegu Photo Biennial in Korea 2014 and the Ballarat International Photography Biennial in Australia, 2015. He also exhibited at the New York Photo Festival, the Paraty en Foco festival, the Biennial of Photography of Córdoba, El Ojo Salvaje of Paraguay, Nordic Light Festival in Norway 2012, Noortherlicht Festival in Holland 2012, Goa Photo Festival, India the Lumix Festival for Young Photojournalism in Germany, Cortona on the Move Festival, Italy, 2015 and the Tokyo International Photography Festival in 2015.
