Barreda Fabiana

Born in Buenos Aires in 1967. Photographer and performer, curator and art critic. Graduated from the Faculty of Psychology of the UBA, she worked as a professor in Psychology of art at UNTREF and contemporary art at IUNA and gives seminars in the Architecture and Psychology careers of the UBA. In 1996 she held her first solo show and since 1998 she has worked at Habitat Project up to the present. In 1998 she edited the book La ciudad subterranean, a photographic essay with texts by Marc Augé, Clorindo Testa, Marcelo Pacheco and Jorge López Anayay, in 2001 she produced an alternative publication entitled Habitat Project Manifesto. Invited to participate with Proyecto Hábitat: Utopia y Deconstrucción at Fundación Telefónica curated by Corinne Abadi in 2004. In 2007 with the same project and within the framework of the End of the World Biennial in Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego, Argentina), she participated in the international artistic meeting. Invited with other artists in the Utopian Reality exhibition at the South Korean Embassy in 2011. With the support of the Japanese Embassy, in 2012 she participated in Satori, an art and technology exhibition on Japanese culture in the Japanese Garden as a tribute to to Shei Shonagon, Murasaki Shikibu Bushido, Matsuo Basho, Dàodé Jīng, Peter Greenaway with text by Amalia Sato editor of Tokonoma Magazine. The MAR Museum in the city of Mar del Plata, was the scene of the exhibition Horizontes de Deseo (2014), curated by Rodrigo Alonso with the work Hogar Modulor, My home is the lines of my hand, together with photographs, photoperformance and models with video installations inside. In 2015 she participated with Cuerpo Sonoro – Alfabeto Reactable at Usina del Arte. At Fundación Proa she participated in the exhibition Arte en juego, curated by Rodrigo Alonso (2021). From 2020 to the present, she has carried out different exhibitions and performances in OdA gallery with video installations and augmented reality. Together with OdA, it also participates in national and international fairs such as BAphoto 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022 and Pinta Miami 2021 and 2022. Barreda has been a Jury for different national and international Awards: Metrovias, National Endowment for the Arts, National Hall, Belgrano Hall, Science Museum, CFI Federal Halls, Patronage 2019 and 2020 among others. Her works are part of the collections of MALBA museum, Museum of Modern Art, ArteBA Foundation, New York University, Castagnino Rosario Museum, among other private and public collections.
