Ana Alegría is an Argentine artist living in Buenos Aires.
Ana’s drawings refer us to ephemeral moments, as if the
unconscious ow became present in an image. Her work
describes events and personal moments, described as a
dream. Her autobiographical references manifest
universal emotions circumscribed to a history of veiled
memories, to spots of personal destiny that reveal
mysteries of the intangible world.
She operates in the same way when she composes a
scene on canvas. A collage of elements, cuts of the
reality that surrounds her, are represented in her
minimum expression; the balustrades of a staircase, a
limestone oor, jewelry, mates, photos with her mother,
owers, textiles, electrical appliances, all coexisting on
the same plane without perspectives and on a surreal
scale. They are elements that represent a daily intimacy,
that make up a domestic story. Within Ana’s work, the
world is that space inside, a look at the immediate
environment that evokes inner reection.
