Rosa Mercedes González (1955) is an Argentine visual
artist living in the city of Córdoba.
She inhabits a polyphony of supports: drawing,
painting, embroidery, collage, xylography. She travels in
all directions. She goes back, she goes forward, she
gets lost in a maze full of surprises. Her naive and
primitive language, far from academic structures, allows
her ease and connection with children of all ages.
Her work is lled with stories that manifest as scenes
from a play in full performance. Each piece is a painting
that cuts out an instant of time, leaving the viewer’s
imagination to complete the story forwards and
backwards from that moment.
