Pintado Cartón
La Nani, 2020, mixed media on cardboard, 148x66 cm

Cartón Pintado (Mariano Altamirano) was born in Buenos Aires in 1988. Painting is the practice with which he makes his affections coexist with beings from another world.
His beginnings with painting arose in his room, using found large-format cardboard.
His technique is always mixed, he mixes oils, latex, powders and applies extra elements producing a painting/collage.
After studying fashion design for a few years and then taking courses at the former IUNA, he continued researching on his own. Whether with action/research or doing tutorials online.
During 2019 he participated in group exhibitions, such as at the Haroldo Conti Cultural Center of Memory and Alpha Centauri.
In February 2020 he held a single show/individual exhibition at the Quimera gallery curated by Caterine Ful Lov (collective of Nina Kovenski and Lucía Reissig).
He is currently a resident scholarship holder in Boca de Fuego-Munar and joined Caterine Ful Lov (a group specialized in preparing vegetarian and vegan food for social artistic events).
At the same time, he composes and sings love songs and takes classes in urban rhythms such as twerk.
