Silvana Lacarra studied drawing and painting at the Saint Josef Institute in Bragado and with the artists Carlos Gorriarena, Ahuva Szlimowicz and Sergio Bazán. She was a scholarship recipient of the Young Artists Program directed by Gullermo Kuitca. Likewise, she participated in the Intercampos program for visual artists of Fundación Telefónica and the Vyt-lacil Campus Artist Residency, The Art Student League, New York, United States.
She has exhibited individually in the country and abroad since 1998. She has held individual exhibitions in the Zabaleta Lab galleries (Buenos Aires, Argentina); Birdhouse Gallery (Austin, Texas, United States); Dabbah Torrejón (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Alejandra Von Hartz Contemporary Art (Miami, Florida, United States), among others.

He has received a mention from the jury of the Hotel Colonial Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Salta Award (2012), the First Prize for Painting from the Central Bank (2008), the First Argentine Prize for Visual Arts Fundación Osde (2006), and the first mention from the Deloitte Foundation Argentine Contemporary Painting Competition (2006).
Her work is part of private and public collections in the country and abroad.
