Valeria Conte Mac Donell was born in Buenos Aires in 1977, she lives in San Martín de los Andes. She is a National Professor of Fine Arts. She has participated in residencies and clinics in various cities such as Seoul, Valdivia, Paraná, Córdoba and Neuquén. Her practice questions the limits of drawing, and for a few years she has been working with large-format works made through performative actions. Among her most important works are Palomo (2012), The Cold Will Pass (2013), Let the Sky Be the Bottom (2015) and How to Leave a Boat (2018). Since the mid-2000s he participated in numerous exhibitions in national and international institutions and obtained, among other recognitions, the Konex Prize (2022), the 1st Mention in the Itaú Visual Arts Prize (2014), the 3rd Prize in the 101st National Salon in New Supports (2012), the Jury Mention in the XV Klemm Foundation Prize (2011) and the Rioplatense Visual Arts Prize from the OSDE Foundation (2004). He participated in exhibitions in spaces such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Seoul, South Korea), Museum of the Americas (Washington DC, United States), Consulate of Argentina in New York (New York, United States), Museum of Image and Sound (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Kirchner Cultural Center (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Recoleta Cultural Center (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Castagnino+Macro Museum (Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina).
