Laura Ortego is a photographer, born in 1975 in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut. Her work revolves around the construction of identities, the passage from childhood to adulthood, migrations and oriental culture. She studied Photography Direction at ENERC (INCAA). She participated in the artist programs of the T. Di Tella University and Entrecampos (CCEBA). She attended the workshops of Fabiana Barreda and Valeria González. She received scholarships from the Metropolitan Fund for the Arts in 2013, from the National Fund for the Arts in 2012 and 2019 and support from the Patronage Program 2019. In 2007 she won the 2nd. Award at the National Photography Salon. Her work was exhibited in several countries around the world. She participated in residencies in Beijing, China, in Kyoto and Fukuoka, Japan, and in Istanbul, Turkey. He published the books Photographic Diary of a Film in India and Beijing Girls and directed with Leonel D’Agostino the feature-length documentary Río Mekong, which participated in the WIP section of the 2016 Mar de Plata Festival. He collaborates in the exchange magazine Dang Dai between China and Argentina and produces the digital publication Visit, with photo interviews with artists from different disciplines and places, about their desire and creative process.
