\u201c<\/span>In my creative process, ideas come to me spontaneously from words, sounds, anecdotes and memories tied to my gaucho roots. Being constantly open allows me to capture snippets from my environment \u2013 from a conversation on the bus, a song, or a visual image \u2013 and transform them into images and visual works of art, often using materials like wood or tin. Recently my work has been inspired by two incredible figures: the poet Le\u00f3nidas Lamborghini, whose acceptance of imperfections and \u201cdeformed\u201d results resonates with my own self-taught background, and the artist Alfredo Londaibere, whose technical mastery and spiritual sensitivity in his handcrafted pieces have left a deep impression on me. I try to combine these influences to create works that are \u201cthe same but similar\u201d; that is, personal reinterpretations that resonate with tradition and the present.<\/span><\/p>

My proposal for the residency at Casa Alberto Heredia and the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires starts with interacting with the museum\u2019s collection in order to explore its representations of gaucho culture, craftsmanship and Argentine cuisine. Working from texts, exhibitions and research, I will develop a series of paintings using different techniques and materials, accompanied by audiovisuals and a literary essay that will broaden these cultural ties. Lo mismo pero parecido<\/i> is the working title for this project that brings together memory, identity and experimentation, seeking to provide a contemporary and personal perspective on tradition, but with an open and creative slant.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Gabriel Hoyos<\/strong> (1993) is a visual artist and qualified photography technician residing in Granadero Baigorria, Santa Fe, Argentina. He is currently enrolled in the Fine Arts programme at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario and trained in photography at ISET No. 18 in Rosario. Hoyos has participated in several workshops, clinics and residencies, highlights of which include his training at the Fundaci\u00f3n El Mirador, Casa Vanzo Wernicke and URRA. He furthered his artistic research while working under the tutelage of Claudia del R\u00edo, Mauro Guzm\u00e1n, Laura Ojeda B\u00e4r, Diego Bianchi, Juliana Iriart, Joaqu\u00edn Barrera, and Nancy Rojas, among other renowned professionals. As an active participant in the contemporary art scene, his solo exhibitions include <\/span>Criatura tapera<\/span><\/i> [<\/span>Ruined Creature<\/span><\/i>] (Desmayo Galer\u00eda, 2023), and he has also participated in group exhibitions at cultural spaces in Rosario and Buenos Aires. He has also collaborated in multidisciplinary projects, working in areas such as stage design, lighting, audiovisual editing and production, and has worked alongside artists and teams on exhibitions, performances and film productions. His work is characterised by an exploration of mixed techniques, artisanal materials and themes linked to memory, identity and tradition, always from a personal and experimental perspective. He is highly versatile and dedicated to his artistic production.
