I went to the museum with some technical and conceptual tools at the ready, and used processes that allowed me to get closer to the surfaces. I listened to the sound pieces of Lu Rizzo and QOA, and approached the materiality of the museum and its works: all this amplified my senses. And, at the same time, these pieces introduced me to a cinematographic narrative that is somewhat hybrid in nature. It was with all this in mind that I arrived that day, and processes appeared that resulted in scenes which then called for other scenes. It is incredible that even though I had gone to make recordings at the museum while it was closed, without visitors, images appeared which were testaments to the life of the building, its use and its movements, as if it were a living thing that breaks up and moves to support the works, with cracks that open up in the walls to show the works, and vice versa. I was able to create this short film in which, when I watch it, separate from my production, I notice that the senses are altered. Just as the hand is able to see, the eye is able to touch the work of [Eduardo] Basualdo, and the running time also opens up the possibility of touching the work without even approaching it.”

Federico Lamas (Buenos Aires, 1979)
Independent visual artist.
