This book was published as a companion to the exhibition, Antonio Berni: Paper \u2018Antonio Berni. Paper Revelations 1922-1981<\/em> presents a set of unpublished works on
Revelations 1922\u20131981<\/em>, a comprehensive overview of the artist\u2019s drawings, from his
early landscapes made on the outskirts of Rosario, Santa Fe Province, to the sketches
for his murals in San Luis Gonzaga Chapel, in Las Heras, Buenos Aires Province, the
year he died. The publication includes a record of the drawings, illustrations, sketches
for paintings, engravings and studies displayed in the exhibition, reflecting Berni
versatility\u2019s, interests and political concerns. The texts that accompany this journey
through his images were written by Marcelo E. Pacheco, one of Argentina\u2019s most prolific
researchers in art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
paper covering his entire career, from the early landscapes from Rosario around 1922
to the sketches for his murals for the Chapel of San Luis Gonzaga in Las Heras, in the
province of Buenos Aires, dated 1981, the year of his death. The selection of pieces is
made up of drawings, illustrations, sketches for paintings, engravings and murals,
studies of hitherto unknown motifs and studies he later developed in his studio. Also
included are images of works that have now disappeared and a striking collection of
political drawings from the 60s and 70s that address some of the most important events
of the 20th Century: (\u2026) In the over 200 drawings selected for this exhibition from the
huge set that has recently been discovered, we see how each was a work of its time,
allowing us a privileged glimpse into the great master\u2019s political and visual thoughts. \u2019
