In her curatorial article Sof\u00eda Dourron recounts the artist\u2019s turbulent creative life-story<br>and describes Avello\u2019s multi-faceted personality to convey a broader understanding of the<br>diverse shadings of an artistic output that reveals the intensity of a very special moment in<br>Argentinian contemporary art. \u2018Sergio Avello expressed what was in the air, reacting to every<br>stimulus with expansive gestures like concentric ripples, like a DJ who picks and mixes their<br>own and others\u2019 tunes. He composed situations out of everything he found around him: oils,<br>people, songs and places. Avello is an immaculate colourist with a fierce eye, an elegant<br>nomad, a minimalist in dress and words, a cultivator of small pleasures, of excess and<br>contradiction, an art buff, a fan of artists, a tourist of life.
