The exhibition Detournalia <\/em>featured an overview of the many different languages and formats with which the Argentine artist Fabio Kacero worked between 2001 and 2015, curated by Rafael Cippolini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detournalia <\/em>is a made-up but very precise word: it means land of detours, or land made of detours. \u201cIt refers to the incredible proliferation of twists and turns the artist\u2019s imagination takes every day, encouraging us to think and experience art from different perspectives,\u201d says the curator. Within this universe, Kacero experiments with the written word: bibliographic indexes, book pages with framed dedications, altered covers and playful lists of words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition included installations, objects, paintings, video-art, music and poetry. Detournalia <\/em>is a satirical, humorous and playful look at the history of art, philosophy, and great literature using many different materials, including video, installation and words: written, spoken, sung, read, recited and even invented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition journey was an unusual path of detours, crossovers, gestures and games: part of a practice that is always seeking to open up the field of art and explore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fabio Kacero <\/strong>(Buenos Aires, 1961) has been holding solo exhibitions since 1989. His exhibitions include: El viaje en trineo (\u00f3 La traducci\u00f3n infinita) (The Sleigh Ride(or the Infinite Translation), Centro Cultural de Espa\u00f1a in Buenos Aires (CCEBA), Buenos Aires (2011); Flavio Kacer, Ruth Benzacar Galer\u00eda de Arte, Buenos Aires (2010); and La muestra del a\u00f1o (The Exhibition of the Year), Ruth Benzacar Galer\u00eda de Arte, Buenos Aires (2006); among others. He has taken part in major collective exhibitions such as: La historia la escriben los vencedores (History is Written by the Winners), Espacio de Arte OTR, Madrid (2014); Historico-vagabond, Galerie Alberta Pane, Paris (2013); Recovering Beauty: The 1990s in Buenos Aires, Blanton Museum of Art, Austin, Texas (2011); Fic\u00e7\u00f5es do Invis\u00edvel, an exhibition that was part of 7\u00aa Bienal do Mercosul: Grito e Escuta, Porto Alegre (2009); and Beginning With A Bang! From Confrontation to Intimacy, Americas Society, New York (2007).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
