In this work, a first in Argentina, the artist uses her body to explore the historical exclusion of people marked by society as different, particularly those with disabilities and illnesses.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The performance evokes historical practices of stigmatisation like the bells worn in times of old by people affected by leprosy to announce their presence and the history of segregation on Spinalonga, the Greek island that was home to one of Europe\u2019s last leper colonies. Wearing a belt fitted with bells, Pawlik transforms a marker of separation into an assertion of visibility and presence. Through sound and motion, she challenges the discrimination of disabled bodies and their exclusion from public spaces.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the Museo Moderno, the Krak\u00f3w-based artist will be creating a site-specific choreography in direct response to the Museum\u2019s architecture.
